Skiptrace Reviews and Ratings
-
The Jackie Chan film builds towards a buddy partnership as action remains unimaginative and the laughs few.
-
…unless you’ve ever found yourself wondering what it would be like to watch Jackie Chan dance to a Mongolian tribe’s cover version of Adele’s Rolling in the Deep, you needn’t suffer Skiptrace.
-
Resident in this tired wistfulness is perhaps the next evolution of Chan’s cinematic icon.
-
Apart from its cast, Skiptrace has very little to offer that you can recommend, enjoy or even remember. This Chinese-American goulash with a sprinkling of Mongolian and Russian elements is just all over the place.
-
This film doesn’t even amuse leave alone entertain. There can be little return (even if hypothesized) on that!
-
The only saving grace in the film are the beautiful landscapes and a song sequence in Mongolia that is beautifully captured by cinematographer Chan Chiying’s lens.
Overall, watch Skiptrace only if you are a Jackie Chan fan.
-
Skiptrace is weighed down by a lack of chemistry between its leads, but saved by Jackie Chan’s ever-reliable action work, and an enjoyable travelogue angle.
Just skip it.
