With some easy moments, this film could have been easier to watch, but not when there is no break from loud background music, loud melodrama, and loud dialogues. Even the children, who all try hard to be as natural as possible, are weighed down under all the preachiness.

Raj Zutshi stands out and so do the two children. The film tries too hard to hold you emotionally. If only the makers took it easy, this one could have been a winner.

Many a time, the problem with such heavy-on-message films is they get carried away by their own preaching. This film cautiously goes slow, emphasising on actions more than words. After all, the idea is to let the grownups understand a bit about the burden kids carry nowadays. The repetitive shots of the two protagonists breaking down under pressure compels you to take notice.

Take it Easy stresses on an important message that will resonate with most of us. We have all dealt with parental pressure, competitive exams and disappointments at some point in our lives. The film may not be a complete one in all respects but deserves a watch for its earnestness.

Just like cinematic villains verbally spell out their master plans, children in this movie seem to be completely self-aware. Their lines are like recitals; a little girl who can barely pronounce her own name tells her friends that she fails purposely so that her parents don’t expect too much. It’s clear that these kids don’t know any better, and are voicing their writers’ opinions.
