The Big Sick Reviews and Ratings
-
The Big Sick is certainly the warmest romcom I have seen in recent times. When we complain that the romcom genre as a whole is not offering anything new to the patrons, The Big Sick shows us that there is enough life and charm in the genre. A highly recommended date movie that you should not miss with your beloved!

Overall, with moderate production values, The Big Sick is a pleasingly feel-good film.

The Big Sick is also a success story for indie cinema and the talent behind it. A non-mainstream, unconventional story that played at Sundance is now in movie theaters and will soon be available to stream worldwide. This is the kind of revolutionary business model the film industry should embrace if it wants to maintain big crowds in the 21st century.

The Big Sick is packed with delicious details, moments and scenes that makes the film stand apart as a smart rom-com…

If a film can still be made where a person spreads the prayer mat and then dances around it playing video games, where Anupam Kher can play a Pakistani dad, where one can say that he doesn’t know whether one believes or not in Allah, and where a mother can pack meat biryani for the road, all is well.
-
Heartwarming, compassionate and wholly human, The Big Sick is highly recommended.

This is a film that raises the bar for romantic comedies hereon. It’s a film I know I’m going to watch again soon, to savor the company of its characters. Don’t miss The Big Sick. It’s a real gem.

The film lacks the vitality of My Big Fat Greek Wedding and other such romcoms. It could also do with a 10-minute shorter run. But there is no taking away from the fact that this smart comedy is an ideal monsoon getaway.
