• Despite some tonal and length issues, Gautham impresses mostly in ‘Yennai Arindhaal’, and gives this tale of a police officer a much need emotional tug. Ajith’s screen presence is unbelievably amazing and it takes guts for a star with a crazy fan following to do something so bold. It’s refreshing to see the actor in Ajith overshadowing the star and going on to prove who is much better.

  • A rushed climax, a problematic organ trafficking angle, a repeated plot device, a predictable ending… and yet Yennai Arindhaal comes as a breath of fresh air, especially at a time when big-budget films haven’t quite lived up to their hype. There’s just that one melisaana kodu that stops it from being terrific.

  • The backdrop is new, and the plot engaging but the characters, the situation, and even the dialogues are reminiscences of his previous cop films.

With Yennai Arindhaal, director Gautham Menon perhaps completes his cop trilogy.

  • Gautham has successfully carved chapters of the third episode in a police officer’s life, giving it a premise similar to the first two, building a fresh structure on top and fitting Ajith perfectly into it. Get to know Sathyadev, you will like him – Just like you liked Anbuchelvan & Raghavan!

A super-entertaining, slightly predictable film that marks the return of good commercial Tamil cinema.

  • Though Yennai Arindhaal reminds us about Gautham’s previous movies especially the romance scene between Ajith and Trisha, Ajith and Arun Vijay’s performance saves the film and averts a major disaster.

  • Watch Yennai Arindhaal for Ajith’s majestic screen presence and the underlying emotional current.

  • With recent big budget-big star movies disappointing, Gautam Vasudev Menon bounces back to winning ways with this action thriller, which has a winner written all over it. Ajith’s large legion of fans are sure to have a treat with this one.

Yennai Arindhaal is not a flawless film. There are blips here and there like an unwanted song or a clichéd scene. But they are negligible keeping the fact in mind that this is a honest attempt from the director. GVM completes his cop trilogy in style. Its just the beginning, of good things to come.

Yennai Arindhaal is a mixture of Mass juxtaposed with class and is sure to quench the thirst of Ajith’s fans and GVM’s signature style movie goers. Barring the nostalgic moments from his previous movies and the slow screenplay Yennai Arindhaal is a rock solid entertainer with enough scenes to get you hooked.

  • Yennai Arindhaal is a feeling, a learning that just takes sometime to tell you the story, by not dramatizing events and exaggerating factors. Finally, Gautham should be credited for making a movie not for Ajith fans, but one which Ajith’s fans will enjoy! Isn’t that what good cinema is about?
