The film thinks it would be hilarious to use the word ‘fafda’ as a euphemism for ‘f*ck’, presumably because Gujjus love fafda more than … never mind. So, taking a leaf out of Welcome to Karachi’s script, heed this warning: everyone involved in this fafda film overacts, there isn’t remotely a fafda funny line to make you fafda laugh, it looks tacky as fafda, is loud enough to make your fafda eardums fafda explode, and long enough to deplete your fafda hairline.

As of now, Tanu Weds Manu Returns is half a good movie, and half a dunderhead. If you consider both halves of this movie like a couple, then one of them surely needed to give some love and affection to the other before the fuse blew.

Ranbir, Anushka’s sizzling chemisty can’t save boring second half…However, make of it what you will, but for all its weaknesses, what Bombay Velvet lacks in complexity, it ultimately makes up for with its sheer beauty.

Piku glides over all of these heavy-duty themes with breezy lightness and consistent, well-timed comedy. This is a road trip movie after all, and it’s got hysterical, rapid-fire montage of cuts of the back and forth between the trio of Piku, Bhaskkor and Rana. The teeny bit of melodrama is handled beautifully by shuffling laughs and tears together like a pack of cards, making Piku one of the more emotionally honest films to have come from the industry.

Akshay Kumar remakes a Telegu version of a Tamil film and it’s a disaster. The only ray of light in this rumbling assault of stupidity is that the film is only two hours and ten minutes long, short enough to return home and assuage your grief by browsing Vijaykanth’s resplendent clips on YouTube.

Dharam Sankat Mein had quite an uphill task of balancing comedy and the religious sentiments of its audience. It succeeds fairly well – the jokes are in good taste and the film presents the hypocrisy in blind belief, rather than faith per se. Both Hindu and Muslim customs, two polar opposite sides of the spectrum, are made fun of with equally measured, over-careful restraint. Gujarat’s ban on alcohol gets a subtle dig.

This Sunny Leone starrer is soft porn without any actual porn…From outrageous and caricaturist gay characters to outright gay bashing, Ek Paheli Leela offers the whole platter.

…is ultimately a wicked cocktail of clues, images, sounds, emotions and sensations. From start to end, you’ll be firmly affixed to the edge of your seat. Hopefully this is the start of a franchise and the dawn of a bold new era for Yash Raj Films.

Sure, it’s old-fashioned, but this film is as pretty as a fairy tale…The film also does little to hide the regressive backbone of the story, where a girl is rescued from her problems in life only because a handsome prince shows up and whisks her away. After Frozen, one would think Disney had the insight to impart strong and battle like values to young girls, and told them that finding prince charming is not the only target in life. Alas, no such subversion is to be found here.

A funny sex comedy with a terribly botched up ending…The biggest takeaway from Hunterrr is that Deviah is far greater than this film, and he certainly deserves better stories. As do we.
