Kabali

2016 · Ap Herald · Jul 2016

This is definitely not Rajini movie. Watch with open mind. Get ready to face some slow screenplay. However the director has added all commercial elements in second half of the movie. The first 15 minutes and last 20 minutes be2fore Interval are the highlights of the movie. Similarly the climax is also entertaining. As always, Good triumphs over evil. Cinematography and Music are the two pillars of the movie and they escalate the movie to new level.

Bengal Tiger

Bengal Tiger

2015 · Dec 2015

Goofy entertainment, thats what is selling in Tollywood at the moment. Thats why Sampath Nandi has decided to place a series of fatuities against each other, to make an incoherent mess called Bengal Tiger. This so called commercial entertainer suffers from generic storytelling, situational comedy and rarely raises above the fallible conception. All in all, Bengal Tiger is a kind of film that constantly remind yourself that there is a Sunny and beautiful world outside the cinema hall.

Cheekati Rajyam

Cheekati Rajyam

2015 · Ap Herald · Nov 2015

It's an Olympian feat to remake an International hit film to local standard and at the same time make their fans happy. However, debutant director while trying to do so, failed to grab the soul of the film completely from the original. The film leaves you with a mixed kind of impact in the end and would appeal to only a limited section of audience. All in all, Cheekati Rajyam is a remake of Nuit Blanche but lacks the finesse and gloss of Frederic Jardin's worth watching action thriller.

Kumari 21F

Kumari 21F is not the usual run of the mil movie which is designed to entertain audience. Watching it with such an intent can be disappointing. Also labelling it as a Sukumar film will heighten the expectation. Instead watch the movie for its different depiction and muse over some of the questions that the movie poses. All in all, Kumari 21F is a mixed bag. Its not an interesting film. But its sincere and largely piece of cinema about unconditional love in present day relations.

Kanche

Kanche

2015 · Ap Herald · Oct 2015

Kanche is another film where the plot is challenging and paper work is good but falls short in execution. Acting in most parts is acceptable but the film never tries to captivate its audience through its narration. The story progresses on predictable lines and things become boring, after a while. In short, it can be safely said that Kanche is Krish's weakest work so far in his career (Only after his Bollywood film Gabbar). But it's quite normal that you tend to forget the flaws and appreciate the best things about Kanche, due to its underlying honesty. It may not be there among the best, but the hard work that has gone into its making needs a dab.

Breathtaking in scope and action and surprisingly precise characterizations despite whatever ethnically dubious casting choices. Gunaa's expertise in the machinery of the genre reaches its pinnacle. The Rudhramadevi - Gonna Ganna Reddy final scene is stroke of genius. On the whole, Rudhramadevi is another epic from master Guaa, very enjoyable.

Bale Bale Magadivoy

is a perfectly packaged film for the family audience. It may defy logic at times but is a laugh riot that is genuinely entertaining. To sum things up, at a time when fatuous masalas are the order of the day, a movie like "Bhale Bhale Mogadivoi" provides a whiff of fresh air. The movie is simple, straightforward and entertaining. Three cheers to the whole team for making a clean and a good entertainer. Wish more BBM's happen in Telugu Cinema.

Current Theega

Current Theega

2014 · Ap Herald · Nov 2014

The major letdown in remake comes mainly from the script work and the direction. The script with more tongue-tied anxiety than sense, fails to capture the nature of the original and G Nageswara Reddy spineless guiding comes across as more concerned with perceived commercial viability rather than pure story-telling craft.

Oka Laila Kosam

2014 · Ap Herald · Oct 2014

OLK actually has some obliging situations and interesting pair but regrettably the screenplay and treatment have no idea what to do with them. First half of the film is flat, whereas the drama in the second half doesn't hold. The outcome is yet another case of "had potential couldn't deliver", a syndrome that Telugu cinema is blight with for quite some time now. To cut the long story short, "Oka Laila Kosam" starts promisingly, bringing on some grins, but those grins vanish faster than it takes to "say cheese".

Nee Jathaga Nenundali

Nee Jathaga Nenundali

2014 · Ap Herald · Aug 2014

Nee Jathaga Nenundalli is more of a rehash than remake. Soulful music, High-end Production values and Cinematography Nee Jathaga Nenundali had its chances but the predictability, poor translation, worst performances and the pointless lyrics in the film kill them ruthlessly. The problem is not that the storyline is inspired, but the issue is with the overall handling. The pace of the film is so slow throughout and is always interrupted by songs with meaningless lyrics. The dialogues are poorly written and wafer thin script has nothing much to offer. In amovie like this one needs to feel for their love and romantic world. But sadly it never really happens. The proceedings remain dull and drab leading the audience to point of vexation.

Run Raja Run

Run Raja Run

2014 · Ap Herald · Aug 2014

The first half of Run Raja Run was quite entertaining with good comedy, songs and dances while the second half unfolds the story and the much talked songs sequences came out well. With a good twists and twirls and a decent climax, second half turned a good watch. Major problem with the film is the typical storyline and predictable narration happens post intermission. Content wise, Run Raja Run is not a unique one but it does not fail to impress you or keep you engrossed with the good entertainment. Run Raja Run makes you spend two hours with regular yet vibrant funny ride.

Nuvvala Nenila

2014 · Ap Herald · Aug 2014

Nuvvala Nenila is nothing but a trashy rehash of South Korean comedy film "Seducing Mr Perfect". It worked back there but sadly in the present times, this film neither falls in the category of boastful slapstick genre nor in witty comedy. A weak script and screenplay joins forces with bad humor and worse duologues to make the film an utterly unpleasant fare. Indeed, there is not a single scene in the film, which can boast of providing any entertainment in any way.

Galipatam

2014 · Ap Herald · Aug 2014

Few decent performances, couple of songs and a few punchy - rhyming dialogues alone don't make an interesting rom-com if the plot and direction is lackluster. First half of the film is routine but has some good entertaining episodes, it's the second half where director tries something out of the box and fails to convey it properly. Positives of the film are Cinematography, Music, Basic Point and few dialogues. The film misses the point in the second half but nevertheless makes us smile for a while.
