• A vivid and delightful animated spectacle, Rio 2 is chock-full of colorful 3-D wonder and jubilant musical numbers set against a tale of family dynamics and environmental dilemmas.

  • So what you get in the end is a gorgeous looking, muddled film that leaves you unmoved. But isn’t that the most important thing?

  • I guess anything goes in a David Dhawan movie. Which is disappointing. Our movies and audience are making an attempt to evolve, but some filmmakers are insistent on rehashing the same old formula with new actors. Watch it if you don’t mind being served old wine in a glitzy new bottle.

  • The least one expected was a new perspective. As a character in the films says –‘It is poetic’. Sadly the film is not. Avoid.
The convoluted second half makes sure the viewer is completely disconnected, with the finale twist being the only interesting aspect.

  • With none of the charm of the original, the film will certainly infuriate those who’ve seen it. Even for those who haven’t, the only draw would remain the story about ghosts and their struggle to retain their home. But with unforgivably clumsy execution and mostly awful acting, one would recommend you rent out the original.

  • One of the film’s main draw— Sunny Leone looks the part. Compared to the obvious awkwardness in her first Bollywood film Jism 2, there’s a marked step-up.

The film could be disappointing for serious horror buffs. It may not be the scariest film you’ve seen, but with the combination of a few chilling moments, excellent supporting cast and the comedic relief, it certainly is entertaining!

  • The film could have been a modern rom-com dealing with issues of the recession, over-bearing parents, changing love equations etcetera. But what you get are good-looking actors, a few immersing moments, and an amusing sitcom episode at best.

  • A true coming-of-age-story…no cop-out. Now that’s a rare Bollywood gem. Do Not Miss!

  • One doesn’t know whether to call it a flaw, but the film’s antagonist is far stronger than its protagonist. The character is superbly etched even if bordering on caricature, has the best dialogue and is incredibly performed by Juhi Chawla. Of course, since she is a politician, every other dialogue begins with Politics mein…. But Chawla makes this character the most entertaining and immersing part of the movie.

  • With a take on relationships that starts off as modern, but cops-out; it’s the humour and performances that are worth savouring. Guess that would even the scales for a just about decent watch.
