Subramanian Harikumar's Film Reviews

Ravi Teja once again plays it to the gallery as Bengal Tiger might impress just the front rowers. Though mildly entertaining at times, the plot is so done to death and predictable that it tests your patience. I mean how many times can you seen the same film over and over again! Watch it only if you get free tickets!

Size Zero is not a great film. It is a good film which tries to convey a gem of a message, but falls prey to the cliches of typical love story in the end. Overall, Size Zero is a decent watch. If you are looking for a decent family entertainer, Size Zero is your pick. Last but not the least, please do watch it for Anushka as she is absolutely fab in the film!

Thoongaavanam is a slick and interesting thriller that has all the elements to keep you hooked. Kamal Haasan and Trisha have come up with fabulous performances, and despite minor flaws, this Hollywood style action thriller is very watchable. Go for it!

Don’t waste your money on Ram Charan’s Bruce Lee as it is same as any other mass hero film, which you can watch on TV. Though Ram Charan’s fans might enjoy it, I recommend others to stay away. And if your excuse to watch the film is Chiranjeevi’s cameo, then be ready to be bored for nearly 2 hours and fifteen minutes before Mega star makes an entry.

If you are a die hard fan of Anushka and Allu Arjun, and can digest its mediocre VFX, bad 3D effects and boring second half, then do go for Rudhramadevi. It is not as bad as Puli which had no story whatsover. But if you are expecting an another Baahubali at big screens, then prepared to be terribly disappointed.

You must have heard the caption ‘Save the tiger’. Well this tiger aka Puli is sure to be hunted down by critics and I advice you to save yourselves and stay away from Vijay’s Puli if you want to maintain your sanity. I am going with one and half stars for Puli just for the sake of Vijay’s earnest efforts and one or two stand out scenes.

If you are looking for having a few laughs at the cinemas this week, and have the stomach to digest a dumb comedy, then Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon is for you! Watch it for Kapil Sharma’s impressive debut!

In an industry, where we are served with minding numbing comedies every week, Kaun Kitney Paani Mein is refreshing and will be liked by those who have an appetite for satire. Having said that, the film suffers from half baked screenplay and takes its own sweet time to establish the plot. Watch it if you have patience and free time. Others can just give it a miss!

Baahubali=Grand. Srimanthudu=Simplicity. Kick 2= Unabashed craziness. Ravi Teja’s latest flick is a ‘leave your brains at home’ entertainer that is high on fun factor. Kick 2 defies logic, defies physics and is ten times over the top than a Rohit Shetty film. But it is amazingly entertaining too. Watch it just to add some masti to your mundane day to day routine.

This is no VIP or Anegan. Maari has nothing new to tell or nothing interesting to hold the audience other than its leading man’s earnest efforts. This film is strictly for Dhanush fans. Watch it for Dhanush and Dhanush only. And if you don’t like the actor, then stay clear of Maari!
