• The film doesn’t offer us an escape from reality nor does it warn us against the evils of consumerism. It isn’t even an out-and-out comedy. Its this neither here nor there quality that goes against it and stops you from enjoying it to its true extent.

Movie beginswith a lot of fresh promises in terms of natural performances, fantastic cinematography and edgy editing. Bewakoofiyaanis the well appropriated Indian adaptation of Meet The Parents.

  • Despite showing some promise, this romance fumbles and fizzles without much conviction, reducing it to a lazy DVD watch.

  • Bewakoofiyan is like the strapless bra — a good idea in theory but in practice, pointless and uncomfortable. Ladies in particular, go watch Queen instead.

…entertains in parts only. The overall impact, however, is not upto the mark. Given the poor start of the film on the one hand and the absence of hit music or great content to boost its chances on the other, it will do average business in the cinemas.

  • …ends on the banal note that no matter the vicissitudes, love is all you need. What then was the point of all the humdrum but overwrought conflicts leading up to that realization? They did not tell me anything about the characters. The characters did not evolve or transform, but merely went back to where they were and lived happily ever after.

Ayushmann Khurrana who surprised audience with his exceptionally good performance in Vicky Donor, utterly disappoints us in this movie. Like her earlier films Sonam gives a flat performance. Sonam who hogged limelight with her bikini scene in this film, has not done justice with her character at all.
Even veteran actor like Rishi Kapoor fails to impress upon audiences with his funny antics. No major releases and long weekend may work in favour of Bewakoofiyaan.

  • What’s also unbelievable is the sudden turnaround by the terror-inducing dad. The villain becomes an ally of love. But as long as you don’t analyse it too much, Bewakoofiyaan (which means Stupidities) can make for a fun watch.
