Despite a lengthy runtime, Civil War draws you into a world where superheroes are essentially just individuals fighting for their rights. There’s no looming sense of evil and doom. Not archaic antagonists or bad guys. The good guys bring in enough grey shades. They’re just super powered people fighting for their ideologies. And it all proves the point that; great source material will always result in a great cinematic experience. Do not miss the veritable, action movie of the year.

  • After watching the hilariously subversive Deadpool, I was convinced that I could never again take a straightforward superhero movie seriously. Captain America Civil War undid my thought process just two months later. The biggest takeaway from this film was that Black Panther looks sleek as hell, and one just can’t wait for the next slew of Marvel superhero films like Doctor Strange.

Overall, ‘Captain America: Civil War’ is a purposeless fantasy battle, punctuated with humour, that may appeal only to its fans.

With a slate increasingly crowded with jester superheroes—the Guardians crew, Ant-Man, Deadpool—Marvel seemed in danger of becoming a little too in on the joke. With Civil War, it seems to have found its balance.

  • Civil War shows how effective action sequences can be when done well. Right from the opening sequence, there is a crunchy physicality to the action. It’s easy to get carried away, when you have superheroes with distinct set of powers that bamboozle audience with CGI vagueness.

Overall, Captain America: Civil War proves to be a thoroughly entertaining affair. Clearly, Marvel once again has one upped DC. With the ‘Justice League’ movies lined up, Zack Synder and company have their job cut out if they want to pose any serious challenge to the seemingly unchallengeable ‘Avengers’ franchise. If you thought that Tony Stark’s wry humor was the coolest thing about the franchise, wait till you have seen the young Spidey smart-talk his way out of a tricky situation. Captain America: Civil War is the perfect Hollywood summer blockbuster that will disappoint few. Highly recommended!

  • Captain America: Civil War makes up for the dullness of the previous Captain America films, and Chris Evans, with his pumped-up muscles and thawed-out all-American good looks, adds greatly to making this a satisfying watch.
