These guys get it, the characters and the spirit of the comics. Captain America: Civil War is a great ride even if you don’t read the comics or haven’t seen any of the older films.

  • Rogers’ mistrust regarding new-world values (compared to the time he was from) is nicely explored. His unwillingness to compromise on his code is seen to great effect. There is darkness, there is depth, but the important thing is that the element of fun is also most definitely present. Oh and needless to say, don’t miss Stan Lee’s cameo and do stay for the post-credits scene.

Screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely never let your interest dip and the Russos make sure everybody gets a line (or more) in. This is a build-up to other movies and to keep with it, you have to watch this movie to the very end – there’s a mid-credit teaser as well as one that rolls after all the end credits have.

  • Captain America : Civil War is a proof that Marvel knows how its done! Unlike Dawn Of Justice, this superhero vs superhero drama will make you struggle to pick sides. Undoubtedly, the best film in the Captain America series…

  • …a story heavy film and shows the emotional journey of The Avengers, especially Captain America and Iron Man. The film has some mind blowing action sequences with the introduction of new Superheroes joining the team. A definite must watch.

  • There might be no great depth in the storytelling though. Nevertheless, this is kickass stuff and will keep the fans in high spirits till the next engagement is worked out!

  • I suspect a subject like this easily lends itself to realism, since the film itself is more often than not aimed at adults. Frankly, the presence of Robert Downey Jr. alone gives the franchise more gravitas than a bunch of serious lines ever could. There is much spectacle to keep the usual lot happy.

If you have been a Marvel Fan all along, go for it. If you have been a Spider-Man fan all along, go for it. If you have been a superhero movie fan, go for it. If you hated Batman v Superman for being no fun at all, go for it! In short, go for it!

  • The thing is, Marvel makes it funny, and that charm and care is what has and will keep audiences coming back over and over again.

Overall, Captain America: Civil War proves to be a thoroughly entertaining affair. Clearly, Marvel once again has one upped DC. With the ‘Justice League’ movies lined up, Zack Synder and company have their job cut out if they want to pose any serious challenge to the seemingly unchallengeable ‘Avengers’ franchise. If you thought that Tony Stark’s wry humor was the coolest thing about the franchise, wait till you have seen the young Spidey smart-talk his way out of a tricky situation. Captain America: Civil War is the perfect Hollywood summer blockbuster that will disappoint few. Highly recommended!

  • The high octane drama then slowly (and skilfully done) snowballs into zappy car chases (and crashes), full blown civil wars, gunfires that will make you go boom! and tremendously projected acrobatic antics–you get it all.  The razor sharp editing and fragmented (intentionally done) screenplay only spices up the drama to give you a visual experience that only this series can promises to dish out!

  • Comic book adaptations can be fickle beasts. But when done well, they shine. Civil War is a super satisfying film in that regard and also because it takes its characters and not itself seriously

Despite being half an hour longer than the average Hollywood flick, it’s dynamic, entertaining and you’re not going to be itching to leave you seat.
