Damadamm! Reviews and Ratings
-
Let’s talk about the story. Your character is in a relationship with Shikha (Purbi Joshi) for five years. Isn’t that too long a time to suffer a “possessive, nagging” girlfriend?
-
On the whole, Damadamm! Is a dull fare which won’t do well at the box-office.
-
All in all DAMADAMM does have Dum minus Himesh Reshammiya!
-
It is the underused Purbi Joshi as Himesh’s overbearing girlfriend who steals the show. She imparts a sense of lived-in authenticity to her role, almost at times going beyond the script in search of her character’s lost soul. Why don’t we get to see more of this pretty talented girl in our films?
-
What could’ve been a sweet, simple love story turns into a confused film that never justifies its spirited title.
-
On the whole, DAMADAMM isn’t bad, but it isn’t great either. Though it has a hit score to its credit and some endearing moments, it will have to rely on a strong word of mouth.
-
This film actually has a darn good script, if you could excuse the hero for a bit. Just a bit. But how can you? We love you Himace. “Like mango, oh ho, like mango…”
-
Though the film shows remarkable restraint in certain scenes, it is over-dramatic in others, which kills the flow. The musical interludes, fairly relevant for once, are too many.
-
Ironically, it’s the songs of the film which stand out much more than the script, narrative, drama and performances.
