• The comedy just gets more tedious and unfunny as the film progresses. Except for a couple of jokes, nothing, and I mean nothing, is salvageable in this disaster of a film.

  • MTH is a good weekend watch with your family, girlfriend or gang of friends. This is pure popcorn entertainment made for hero worshiping masses. And the silver lining is Varun Dhawan, a treasure chest of talent. The next big hero waiting to happen.

  • If anything, ‘Main Tera Hero’ requires a certain amount of willpower to watch the entire film even when you know that freedom and sanity is just a door away.

Don’t step in. Not if you have a choice.

  • The end in such films is never really a mystery, it is how you get there that counts, and Main Tera Hero unfortunately takes a long, meandering, and utterly boring route to get to the climax we all saw coming two minutes into the film. Here’s hoping David Dhawan returns to form some day with a film that doesn’t quite gnaw at one’s brains as Main Tera Hero did.

  • As if to compensate, there are ample displays of Varun’s sculpted body, his fighting skills, his dancing abilities, and his general heroism. The title says it all.

If you try to find something new in this movie, don’t waste your time as it is a typical David Dhawan style film. Like every Dhawan movie, Main Tera Hero is also a comedy one. Most of the scenes of this movie are reminiscent of previous Dhawan flicks despite new actors.

  • Full marks to Dhawan for carrying a comedy with a questionable plot till the finish line. He lays on the charm thick and nice. And if that didn’t seem to work, he just took off his shirt.
Watch this if you like films that don’t challenge you to think.
