Purampokku Engira Podhuvudamai Reviews
Perhaps due to the simplicity of the politically charged plot, the movie overall can seem to lack a layer or two. But be not so demanding – by presenting the conflict involved in a death sentence verdict and avoiding much obvious didactics, Purampokku will keep you engaged and might make you take up a cause worth fighting for.
It is a good attempt from S P Jananathan, with respect to the concept of the film. But, it would have been the best if the film maker could have controlled all other departments too in the right way.
Overall, this film is interesting and engaging. Watch it if you’re a fan of political-thrillers, and if you have enjoyed S. P. Jananathan’s films in the past.
...is another film where the concept is laudable but fails short in execution.
Purampokku Engira Podhuvudamai’ has its moments when the inmates & police officers nonchalantly trade law points at each other and the cat-and-mouse game between the Jailer & the Prisoner with the Hangman playing the innocent foil. However, the engagement factor goes for a toss as the film tries to take on too many issues.
