Sikandar

In 'Sikandar', both the director and the star flounder spectacularly, failing to give us anything we haven't seen before. You can't see any of that in this lacklustre, dull offering, fronted by a distinctly uninterested and uninvolved Salman. In this iteration, I was bored out of my skull.

A.R. Murugadoss delivers a film that, while emotional, lacks the imaginative depth needed to elevate it further. The direction is competent but feels repetitive, bearing similarities to narratives seen in several Tamil-Telugu films. Pritam's soundtrack is average, lacking memorable tunes.

Salman Khan's Sikandar had its heart in the right place with a sensitive message. However, that gets heavily marred by a shoddy screenplay, loopholes in the plot and half-hearted performances. The movie goes onto go pretty much downhill from the second half.
