Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety Reviews

Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety provides some laughs, some of which escape involuntarily. But it also leaves you wondering. Can Ranjan grow up his callow characters? Of course, he can, because he has the smarts (remember Pyar Ka Punchnama?). Does he really want to? I’m not sure. Sharp comedy of the sexes is the hard stuff. Cheap laughs are easy.

Director Luv Ranjan does have a flair for comedy but the laughs can’t compensate for the lack of logic in this film about a man trying to break off his best friend’s marriage
3
Overall, the film is a great entertainer in the anti-women genre, but sadly for Ranjan, it is not a proper category yet and thus the film deserved to called a sexist, 'eye-roll' worthy ride which will leave you frustrated and angry by the end of it.

The one thing that worked for Pyaar Ka Punchnama films was the relatability, even if it was restricted to guys-only discussions. Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety doesn’t have that, nor is it funny.
5
The film’s casting is intelligent, and it was a pleasure to watch Alok Nath chug whiskey and throw some gandi gaalis.
6
It could be easily be called as the third instalment of Punchnama series, but bromance brewing in it makes it a good watch this weekend. And if you are expecting something extraordinary then you may give it a miss, but might regret later!

Pedestrian wit works best around actors who don't just go with the flow, but shape it to suit their comical timing. That's the difference between performers and parrots. But the underwhelming leads of Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety don't seem to know the difference at all.
7
Despite the odds, this bromance vs romance comedy works as an exciting guessing game to predict who’ll end up as the third wheel — best friend or girlfriend? This means war.
6
The youth will connect with it and the ending will take you by surprise. One star only for the climax which combines emotion, drama and humour perfectly. A very rare instance to happen in a Bollywood film, watch the film only for that if nothing!

This is not Pyaar Ka Punchnama but is as entertaining following a similar concept. One entertaining ride with superlative performances by the leading stars as well as supporting cast. Watch this go PURE 24K ENTERTAINMENT!

The unfortunate part of Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety is that in small patches – especially in a scene in which Ishita Raj’s character Pihu is re-acquainted with Titu’s family – it shows a penchant for humour and good timing. Mostly though, this is a tacky, trite recycling of a recipe that has brought box-office success twice to this director. Why bother writing an original script when a photocopy machine is at hand?

'Bromance or Romance' is the underlying premise of the battle of the sexes film. Although it feels misogynistic to paint women the way they have in the film, it is so delightful and frothy and fun, you come away smiling. Are all girlfriends needy or plain manipulative? Will Sonu save his best friend Titu from his girl? What is true love? Do Punjabis drink and wed? The film is a tad too long, but has enough to make you finish gigantic popcorn tubs.

It has plenty of laughs in the first half but suffers from the curse of the second half. If you swear by Luv Ranjan’s brand of comedy – Pyaar Ka Punchnama series – you will have a good time watching Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety. Other than that don’t RSVP to this version of My Best Friend’s Wedding.

Tongue lodged firmly in cheek, Luv Ranjan's bromance-versus-romance tale has enough bite to make it one of the most invigorating rom-coms in recent times.

Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety is a non-stop entertainer that can be described as the perfect follow up to Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2. The film not only fulfills expectations but even surpasses them. Yes, it is predictable, defies logic, and appears a bit clichéd at times, but it is great fun nonetheless! While Kartik Aaryan and Nushrat Bharucha are yet again superb in their roles, the real surprise comes from Alok Nath and Virendra Saxena who play super-cool oldies with attitudes to die for. Credit to Luv Ranjan and team for delivering yet another fun-filled extravaganza!

Audience Reviews for Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety
-
Frankly, 'Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety' is pretty much laughable entertainment. It's Luv Ranjan's best, and the most fun. We have bromance in conflict with 'straight' romance, and the twist in the notion that everything is fair in love and war. Its the war against love, and its totally fair. So sure it also oozes with misogynistic fervour, but that is relatively in lesser proportions. Kartik Aaryan is absolutely arresting as Sonu, the friend. He along with his on-screen bhabhi Sweety (played by Nushrat Bharucha) overpower even stars like the 'not-so-sanskaari' Alok Nath as Ghasitaram, Ayesha Raza as Titu ki Maa and Madhumalti Kapoor as the grandma. Sure it's a film which revolves around a high-class family, but it entertains everyone not in a high-class ecosystem quite perfectly.
