Main Vaapas Aaunga2026

At its core, Main Vaapas Aaunga is about the universal desire to return. Return to a place, to a person, to a memory, or perhaps to a version of ourselves that history has taken away. Set against the backdrop of the Partition, the film explores the pain of displacement and separation, but it never loses sight of hope. Instead of relying on grand dramatic moments, Imtiaz Ali finds beauty in silences, lingering glances, unfinished conversations, and emotions left unspoken. The performances are nothing short of exceptional. Naseeruddin Shah is extraordinary, delivering a performance filled with wisdom, vulnerability, and quiet heartbreak. Vedang Raina is a pleasant surprise, bringing intensity and emotional depth. Sharvari shines with warmth and sincerity, making her character feel instantly relatable. Diljit Dosanjh, meanwhile, brings his trademark authenticity and understated charm, grounding the narrative with remarkable ease. Adding another layer of magic is A. R. Rahman's music. His score doesn't simply accompany the story it becomes part of it. There are certain areas which I didn't liked - Diljit's stand-up scenes were forced and unfunny, a couple of songs that were irrelevant, leading to drag the pace and stretching the runtime. The pace was smooth, but these inconsistent areas made it around 20 minutes longer. While most of the dialogues were good, it became a little cheesy or maybe sloppy at times. Overall, Main Vaapas Aaunga is not just one of Imtiaz Ali's finest works: it is a beautiful reminder of cinema's ability to make us feel deeply. The film is an ode to humanity, and despite of it's certain shortcomings, is a win.

Cars 32017

Cars 3 may not reach the heights of Pixar's finest achievements, it certainly stands as not only the best Cars, but the most mature one as well. Cars 3 is a lovely, clever and entertaining generational tale with tons of heart, a simple and effective storyline, wonderful candy-colored visuals and winning voice work from the talented cast of returning regulars and welcome newcomers. The best part is where Mcqueen decides to give Cruiz a chance of her career, this is where Pixar is best at creating emotional and joyous environment. A good improvement on its predecessor 'Cars 2', had its own laughs and emotions. Would love to see If Cars 4 is made on future. My Rating : 7/10

Raabta2017

Personally, I feel that we are now way past a stage in Bollywood, to rely on scripts dealing with 'punar janam' unless, there's something really unseen in it. Raabta comes across as a mishmash of a contemporary love story that suddenly changes to an unlikely twist of Game Of Thrones. While the makers try hard to change the whole angle of Rajamouli's Magadheera, it doesn't really get any better. The only saviour in the movie was its Soundtrack with instant hits like Ik Vaari and Raabta sung by Arijit. There was a lack of chemistry between Sushant and Kriti and this add to the disappointment of 'Raabta'. Avoid this one and the save your money. 'Raabta' is strictly no to watch in theatre. My Rating : 2/5

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales2017

Dead Men Tell No Tales doesn't rewrite the rulebook for the franchise or the genre as a whole, and is wholly predictable from start to finish, but the likable characters—Thwaites and Scodelario have more natural presence and mutual chemistry than Bloom and Knightley— creative action set pieces, and Depp finally being put in his place in the franchise creates a fun ride that's instantly unforgettable. It works well enough as a stand-alone, swashbuckling comedic spectacle, thanks to the terrific performances, some ingenious practical effects, impressive CGI and a steady diet of PG-13 dialogue. There were couple of Scenes which were unnecessary (like where Keira comes out of nowhere in the final scene). Otherwise, the movie was overall good but can't match the goodness of the First 2 Installments of the franchise My Rating : 3.5/5

Hindi Medium2017

Hindi Medium is an enjoyable and realistic tale which lands a tight slap on the face of a society which considers English as a parameter for judging people, where people are not taken seriously if they don't speak English well and they are made to feel inferior. The dialogues are hilarious and keep you entertained throughout. The plot gets a bit predictable towards the end and the film glorifies government schools, which are looked down upon in our society. A little preachy and over-dramatic towards the end, Hindi Medium strongly drives its point home. My Rating : 3.5/5

Half Girlfriend2017

'Half Girlfriend' can leave a reviewer at a loss for words. It is regressive, silly and incoherent. There was no chemistry at all between Shraddha Kapoor & Arjun Kapoor and also adding Arjun's dead performance. Neither a compelling tearjerker nor an epic contemporary romance, Half Girlfriend is definitely not the film to celebrate modern love. The only thing which was a saviour to this misfire is its Songs. As always, Arijit did a splendid performance with 'Phir Bhi Tumko Chahunga' and 'Baarish','Tu Thodi der' making it a chartbuster. I would advise to avoid Half Girlfriend and instead watch Hindi Medium in which Irrfan gives another brilliant performance My Rating :2/5

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 22017

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" is a fun movie that reacquaints viewers with some of the most lovable characters ever to conquer the big screen. Pratt is engagingly rascally as Quill, and Saldana brings a sassy charisma to the no-nonsense Gamora.Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 delivers a similar experience to the one provided by its predecessor except with more of nearly everything. The blessing of a sequel is that it reunites viewers with familiar characters doing familiar things. But as might be expected, Baby Groot steals the film.To some degree, Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 is a more offbeat film than the original, with better gags, better action, and more visual variety. It is one of the rare sequels which wins the heart of critics as well as Audiences. My Rating : 4.5/5

Life2017

The film "Life" is a test-tube baby, born from a blend of old-school monster-movie DNA and state-of-the-art digital effects. At times silly — yet surprisingly satisfying — this tale of sci-fi suspense and horror, set in the weightless environment of the International Space Station, gives Emmanuel Lubezki's vertiginous "Gravity" cinematography a run for its money. While this ever-more-nerve-racking game of cat-and-mouse is well calibrated by director Daniel Espinosa, the film's real interest derives from the human interactions. Life never reaches greatness, but it's solidly good, from its earned scares to a spot-on ending. My Rating : 3.5/5

XXX: Return of Xander Cage2017

'Return of Xander Cage', as the name suggests, returns to stunt-CGI-action to provide it's adrenaline rush. This is basically Diesel's show and he is well aided by the stunt choreography, CGI action and editing speed. But don't go by looks. There's not much energy in the telling here and the confused narrative totally sidelines logic. The narrative is segmented and even the action is cut and joined together in a million places. So there's no smooth progressive transition happening in the action set-pieces. It is a film borne out of extensive market surveys: in its dismissal of the ideas of nationhood and politics. Very Sad that Deepika Padukone couldn't make an outstanding Hollywood Debut. My Rating 2.5/5

Kong: Skull Island2017

"Kong: Skull Island" delivers a lot of thrills, but not much more than that. Working from a screenplay by Dan Gilroy ("Nightcrawler"), Derek Connolly ("Jurassic World") and Max Borenstein, director Jordan Vogt-Roberts ("The Kings of Summer") keeps things moving as he updates the old-fashioned adventure flick. Better yet (and unlike Jackson's film), the new movie understands the line between thrilling an audience and scaring it silly — between action-adventure awe and horror-movie gross-outs. The action and special effects are mostly first-rate and Vogt-Roberts maintains a vaguely satiric tone that sidesteps schlockiness. My Rating : 3.5/5

Badrinath Ki Dulhania2017

Varun and Alia's magic is what makes Badrinath Ki Dulhania a thoroughly engaging film. The socially relevant side of Badrinath's story acts as a nice buffer and balance to its fluffy and colourful treatment. Well acted and well conceived, Badrinath Ki Dulhania and its socially relevant ideas rise above the frivolous execution to give you a solid film. Badrinath Ki Dulhania has its own set of flaws. But, it is the lead cast who wins over your hearts with his beguiling performance and makes you forgive the makers for it. The music was good enough with recreation of Tamma Tamma and party flavour like 'Aashiq Surrender Hua'. The overall direction was fair enough by Shashank Khaitan. My Rating : 4/5

Jolly LLB 22017

Jolly LLB 2 is a highly entertaining film that also succeeds in delivering some food for thought in a most unsuspecting manner. The film takes swipes at the judiciary, highlights its complexities and flaws, but ultimately reinstates faith in the judicial system. For a courtroom comedy-drama the film has surprisingly high levels of action and suspense. Jolly LLB 2 is a very well made film but it pales in comparison to Jolly LLB. However, Jolly LLB 2 has something for everyone. It's certainly a must watch if you are an Akshay Kumar fan. As for others, you wouldn't be disappointed if you do choose to watch it but don't go expecting another Jolly LLB.

Kaabil2017

Releasing the same day as Raees, Sanjay Gupta's and Rakesh Roshan's emotional and nerve- wracking venture is a grisly, gutsy, edgy and satisfying venture for those who were waiting for such genre. Apart from bringing Hrithik back to success with tremendous performance, it gives you nail-biting moments that make your pulse stand still for a couple of seconds before it goes berzerk. Hrithik reprises everything that he is known for - a formidable screen presence, adrenaline-pumping energy, and compelling emotion. Yami Gautam plays her part naturally without much effort, but appears too strong for a person who has gone through a tragic and spine-chilling incident, which can be a tad unsettling.Sanjay Gupta spins a taut tale, bringing in many heartwarming sequences like the mall sequence, the suicide note in Braille and even the way the final murder is shown in a flashback.Nevertheless, in the final analysis, "Kaabil" is classic commercial cinema with justice done to this genre thriller despite of some minor flaws. And no Kaabil is not like Daredevil for those who think it is replicated from Daredevil. The concept may be the same but the plot is totally different. My Rating : 4.5/5

Raees2017

Raees is an action crime thriller co-written and directed by Rahul Dholakia. Produced under the banners of Red Chillies Entertainment and Excel Entertainment, Raees stars Shah Rukh Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Mahira Khan. Set in the backdrop of 1980s Gujarat, Raees is a crime saga of a small-time bootlegger who rises to become the undisputed king of the state's liquor mafia.Raees is about the extreme sides of human psyche, good as well as bad; there are no half measures here. It is also about survival in a dog-eat-dog world. Raees also touches upon the all important issue of communal harmony. Although, Raees draws heavily from crime classics like Scarface, The Godfather, The Godfather: Part II, Once Upon a Time in America, and The Untouchables, manages to stand on its own thanks to Rahul Dholakia and team who manage to keep the plot engaging throughout. Siddiqui's character has a humorous undertone which adds a layer to the caricature. Overall, Raees makes for an engaging cinematic experience that takes a departure from the recent films of Shah Rukh Khan.Regardless of film's show at the box-office, Raees is a film that no SRK fan can afford to miss.

A Monster Calls2017

The film is a semi-fantastical drama dotted with splashy visual effects, notably a Liam Neeson-voiced anthropomorphic tree that stalks the young protagonist's dreams and subconscious.Director J.A. Bayona ("The Impossible") again ambitiously examines the mind- set of a boy struggling with adult-size burdens, and he's got perfect material to work from in the insightful script by source novelist Patrick Ness. But MacDougall, fittingly, leaves the biggest mark. In a movie-going season that has trained a spotlight on tamped-down emotion, he's impressively stifled in his own right. "A Monster Calls" is a portrait of coping that's both fascinating and heartbreaking. I go with 3.5/5 for Bayona directed fantasy yet emotional tale.

La La Land2016

It's been decades since a studio produced the kind of colorful musical fantasy that "La La Land" so affectionately salutes, but writer-director Damien Chazelle is the guy who done the job perfectly. It is high-concept pastiche, filled with beautiful people, beautiful movement, and beautiful colors. At its best, "La La Land" probes the irony of its existence, celebrating the greatness of a bygone era in the context of changing times. As a drama, this is less nourishing than the heritage it pays tribute to. But for Chazelle, the story is just a slight rib around which he builds a modern rhapsody. So in spite of its flaws, La La Land has moments of pleasure and satisfaction that are worth the price of admission. It's not that it's a bad movie; it's just not an outstanding entertainment, the way great movies (especially musicals) should be. I go with 3.5/5 for the musical drama by Damien Chazelle and I do think that it is the frontrunner for the Oscars.

Ok Jaanu2017

Mani Ratnam's 'Ok Kanmani', Tamil film that garnered enough love from the south Indian audience. Now is this reason enough to make a Hindi remake? Well as per Bollywood history, yes it is. OK Jaanu is the story of a young couple Adi and Tara who hit it off instantly and decide to live in together rather than tying the marital knot and carry on to pursue their dreams. A parallel track shows the relationship between their land lord and his wife who has Alzheimer's and the older couple makes Adi and Tara realize that they ought to do the right thing.Technically speaking there are not many faults in the film. But it's nothing that we haven't seen before. It's the same old wine served the same old way in the same old bottle. It's predictable and once again the climax doesn't make much sense. It looks more of a made up drama that a real sweet coming of age romance story of a young couple. I go with 2.5/5 for OK Jaanu.

Arrival2016

Scripted by Eric Heisserer based on Story of Your Life, by short-fiction writer Ted Chiang, Arrival is more or less the anti-Independence Day.Arrival boldly snubs the standard alien- invasion vernacular of contemporary movies to explore a mood and language of its own. It may be a touch too subdued for the mainstream, but the movie has brains and originality. Adams gives her best performance as a lonely woman who has to make a decision that will haunt her – though perhaps in a good way – for the rest of her life. Although Arrival is about first contact with extraterrestrials, it says more about the human experience than the creatures from another world. This is a singularly powerful movie, without question one of 2016's best. I go with 4.5/ 5 for Denis Villenueve's another Directorial masterpiece.

The Girl on the Train2016

"The Girl on the Train" is grounded in the tranquil house-beautiful of the Hudson Valley suburbs. But director Tate Taylor ("The Help," "Get on Up"), while competent, is no David Fincher. "Girl on the Train" isn't likely to haunt its shivering viewers the way the "Gone Girl" movie did.Blunt,however,makes the ride well worth taking.It's an intriguing premise, and Blunt melts into the role like ice in a glass. She looks lost, ravaged by hopelessness, her voice thickening into syrup, her character a confused stumble. Blunt, in her best screen performance to date, gives it a heartbroken center. I go with 4/5 for 'The Girl on the Train' for Emily's one of the finest performance.

Dangal2016

Nitesh Tiwari's Dangal is highly gripping and transitions smoothly from being a sports drama to an emotional one. The inspiring tale of Mahavir and his daughters is narrated in such a way that you laugh, cry and at some point even make sure you root for these characters right till the end.The father-daughter relationships between Geeta and Mahavir and Babita and Mahavir are explored extremely well emotionally. Also, how situations change the ties between the two sisters has been tapped into well.DANGAL is a flawless piece of work -- it's captivating, unpredictable, spellbinding, entertaining and never overstays its welcome. I rate 5/5 for 'Dangal' and Aamir's best performance since Lagaan.

Neerja2016

'Neerja'is a biopic on Neerja Bhanot, who saved 359 passengers in the Pan Am Flight 73 from terrorists. Sonam Kapoor gave her career best by portraying a brave lady in the movie. The movie shows the bravery and Courage shown by young lady during tense situation. The movie direction was very good By Ram Madhvani and terrific performance not only by Sonam but also the ones who portrayed the terrorists. Such films are rarely made in Bollywood and it feels good to watch movies based on real life incidents. A great tribute to Neerja Bhanot through this movie. I hope Bollywood keep on making biographic movies like this. A must watch movie for everyone.

10 Cloverfield Lane2016

Cloverfield being a good hit, I was eager to watch thriller 10 Cloverfield Lane. The movie was good at the beginning but lost its path under the ground where the cast was situated. There was very less of horror and no mystery. The movie was somewhat predictable however the cast tried to manage the act. I didn't like the plot of the film and neither the cinematography. There were very less dialogues and I was in a thinking that I was watching a silent movie. The trailer was promising but the movie disappointed me. The critics liked the movie for its twisted plot, however I think it was predictable and there was no twist in the movie. I wasn't thinking the movie to be loose. I would give 2/5 for this movie.

Zootopia2016

A beautifully crafted story and great direction by Bryan Howard. Zootopia displays a place of peace and harmony among all the animals. Judy Hopps as the lead antagonist was exceptional with support from Wilde, the Fox. It was something creative with a detective- animated movie but it won many hearts. As always everything goes merry for Walt Disney, Zootopia becomes another one in my list of all time favourite animated movies. Walt Disney continues its miracle touch with the types of movies it makes. Overall, it exceeded expectations and will be a great conpetitor for Oscars 2017. It was one of the best movies of 2016.

X-Men: Apocalypse2016

Unfortunately, Singer's latest and likely last trip to the X-Men universe has its sights set lower than the altering of history. The movie was not so good match compared to its predecessor Days of Future Past however the actors gets engaged themselves very well (including new starcast, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan). All the thematic interest and character dimension that's defined the best of this series falls away for a conventional action display. The final battle sequel was not so convincing. Instead of using 3D graphics, Singer used wide shots for every X-man battle. Overall, the movie was not matching its previous films, however Singer manages to still make it watchable.

Warcraft2016

The epic battle at the center of "Warcraft" isn't the clash between humans and orcs. That's just what takes up roughly two hours of screen time. The true conflict comes from filmmakers trying to tell a story with soul and struggling against the inherent ridiculousness of the movie. Despite the noble effort of director Duncan Jones, who helmed the lower- budget sci-fi wonders "Moon" and "Source Code" , Warcraft just couldn't save itself from its unconventional and poor story tale.With its meticulously detailed realms built out primarily on soundstages and enhanced via CGI during extensive post-production, "Warcraft" aims for fresh and eye-popping and yet ends up shopworn and rather tacky. I am totally disappointed by Duncan Jones 'Warcraft'. I would give 1.5/5 for this heartless movie without any soul.

Independence Day: Resurgence2016

Independence Day: Resurgence doles out the action and effects work in carefully measured, incremental doses, which give the film a cumulative tension almost despite itself. Even if it's hokey and jokey, this is a loud, effects-driven piece, with a driving score. For fans of Roland Emmerich disaster movies, it both hits all the marks, while delivering nothing new. Yet in today's global marketplace, that should be enough to deliver the commercial payload. Roland Emmerich with his always delivering disaster movies (The Day After Tomorrow, 2012,White House Down) delivers another one. I would go with 3.5/5 for this good enough, not so special sequel.

Before I Wake2016

From the director of Oculus - a creepy and nerve cracking horror movie, Mike Flanagan decided to become creative and it resulted in Before I Wake. More of a fantasy than a horror, the movie had its few jump scares, but with no strong storyline and mediocre acting, it disappointed where it could have been a good film. Before I Wake has its moments, but it never quite gels into something coherent or greater than the sum of its disparate parts. Rrgardless of the disappointing result, Mike Flanagan should be credited for making a new style of horror gimmick though it didn't match to his grade. I would go with 2.5/5 for 'Before I Wake'.

Baar Baar Dekho2016

Baar Baar Dekho is hardly even a bird's eye view of the new generation's choices and desires. Its philosophy lacks strength and gloss takes the centre stage right from the beginning.But, if you stop taking it seriously then it may provide you some happy moments in exchange. At the box office, the film's narrative will appeal only to the selected multiplex audience while the masses will find it difficult to relate to the movie.In all, watch Baar Baar Dekho if you swear by the newer, fitter, leaner, hotter Katrina Kaif and her abs. There's nothing much to watch otherwise. I would go with 2.5/5 for this great but failed attempt.

Raaz Reboot2016

Raaz Reboot has the same old stuff that we have seen a zillions times.Raaz Reboot is mediocre fare and may appeal only to fans of the Raaz franchise.Most of its horror sequences are so random that they evoke laughter instead of fear. That can never be a good proposition for a horror film.Though the film has a few scary scenes, it ends up being a clichéd love story instead of a horror flick. The music by Jeet Ganguly, Sangeet and Sidharthy Haldipur is melodious, especially the title track. However, the movie doesn't really offer you a solid reason for watching it. I would go with 2/5 for this successor of Raaz franchise and would advise not to watch it and go for 'PINK' instead of it.

Wajah Tum Ho2016

Vishal Pandya's Wajah Tum Ho starts off as a crime thriller, sporadically turns into a song and dance fest and in the end tries to be a suspense story with further twists and turns. With so many confused aspirations, the film becomes a garish hotchpotch. All shortcomings of a film can be forgiven if it manages to entertain. But Wajah Tum Ho's just isn't able to cut it on that front. Even the songs Pal pal dilke paas, Mahi ve and Aise na mujhe tum dekho are cheap knock-offs. The movie offers generous helpings of eye candy but little wajah (reason) for recommendation. I would advice everyone not to spend cash especially during Demonetization in India. I give 1.5/5 for this insane mystery thriller.

Rogue One2016

To no surprise, Rogue One is a veritable gold-mine of nostalgic riches for Star Wars fans. Recurring characters and classic cameos raise surface-level hairs, but an even deeper connection pulls direct lines from previous Star Wars installations and re-purposes them for added homage.Rogue One: A Star Wars Story suffers from a clunky, too-many-moving-parts introductory period, but once characters are established and battle plans are laid, Gareth Edwards scales epic scenes of interstellar world-torching.It's more than enough to appease Star Wars fans, but Director Gareth Edwards' intergalactic firestorm is also good enough to stand as a mainstream success all in its own right. My rating for 'Rogue One : A Star Wars Story' is 3.5/5.

Moana2016

Unwilling to fix what ain't broke, Disney hews pretty closely to its usual narrative structure in "Moana," while at the same time further expanding its geographical boundaries far from the original Germanic fairy tales that provided the studio's stories for so many decades. Rather than revel in the South Seas kitsch that gave us the Enchanted Tiki Room, this adventure pays fitting tribute to both the natural beauty and the creation myths of the Pacific Islands. If we're looking at the journey and not the destination, "Moana" is thoroughly entertaining if never completely groundbreaking. Moana does what is needed for a good Disney film. With outstanding Visual effects and good musical score, Moana will definitely make its nomination in Best Animated Picture in Oscars. I go with 4/5 for beautifully made Walt Disney creation 'Moana'.

The Conjuring 22016

'The Conjuring 2' is a perfect example of what more sequels should be. It is a perfectly executed horror sequel and Director James Wan effectively explores themes of vision,belief and faith. The family drama is very effective and Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga are efficient in their roles. The film doesn't provide anything new in horror genre, but its set pieces are often impressive even though it rely on jump scares. 'The Conjuring 2' has good story & suspense to have appeal on all kinds of horror fans. Unlike Sinister 2, it sticks to the basics and efficiently delivers a solid horror film. I give 4/5 for this efficiently made horror sequel by James Wan.

Star Trek Beyond2016

The third installment of rebooted Star Trek series offers a strong comeback of the starcast. J.J Abrams was replaced by Justin Lin as the director and it created some disappointment for Abrams fans. Taking over the directing chair from reboot mastermind J J Abrams, Lin delivers some exciting space battle action staged against spectacular digitally-enhanced sets. Justin Lin was good enough to manage the story with very good VFx effects. It is one of the best Sci-fi movies watched in 2016. One of the chief strength of the Star Trek Beyond is that it remains its appealing young cast, who approach their iconic characters with respect. I go with 4.5/5 for this Sci-fi action flick.

The Legend of Tarzan2016

Director David Yates, who inherited the beloved Harry Potter characters and brought that series home in its final four entries, makes the wise decision to direct Tarzan remake, however The Legend of Tarzan ends up being a garbled, clunky production that tries to please everyone and ends up pleasing no one. Alexander Skarsgard is more abs than actor as the ape man. In the end, though, it's really just some pretty pictures, and some computer- generated animals. It was a huge disappointment and will bomb at the box office due to no extraordinary responses from viewers. I would go with 2/5 for this poorly remade movie of a famous character in our early childhood.

Suicide Squad2016

The most awaited movie of the year arrived with great expectations among the audience and speaking truly, I was just enough satisfied to watch Suicide Squad. The cast do their best to flesh out the characters, and Ayer seems to enjoy finding songs for the film's soundtrack, but the action scenes were not so remarkable. The biggest problem with the movie is that, despite all the villains, the main antagonist — wisely hidden in the advertising — was not so appealing and ridiculous. Fans will probably appreciate "Suicide Squad" for trying something different — and it gets bonus points for diversity — but the weaker characters and generally weak plot keep it from being one of the better comic book movies. I would go with 3/5 as it was not excellent but good enough to watch with new idea of villains fighting villains.

Rustom2016

Despite its multiple flaws, Rustom can be watched for Akshay Kumar, whose action/comic brilliance often overshadows his acting prowess. He reminds you to value the honest officers who serve our country with dignity and valour. He makes you want to support the man who probably did the right thing the wrong way. Akshay proved yet again he can play range of diverse roles with brilliance. Rustom was based on real life story of K.M Nanavati who killed her wife's lover and was one of the most sensational court cases in India. Rustom has its flaws, but was overshadowed by Akshay's performance. With good soundtrack and brilliant acting, Rustom is one of the best movies of Akshay Kumar. I go with 3.5/5 for 'Rustom'.

Don't Breathe2016

Alvarez's Don't Breathe is a command, both to the characters and to us. The housebound thriller tiptoes behind three robbers who break into a blind Army veteran's home and awaken the angry giant, who grabs a gun and a hammer and nails them inside. If he hears a footstep, he shoots. To survive, the characters get so quiet you can hear their heartbeats. Spooks don't get more primal.Don't Breathe is stripped down to the basics: a dark, hushed house, heavy with dread, and a thousand things that make us choke on a scream, from a furious Rottweiler to a bit of broken glass that turns Rocky's sneaker into a tap shoe. It's effective misery. After Evil Dead, Fede Alvarez impresses again with Don't Breathe. I would go with 4.5/5 for this impressive and terrific movie.

M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story2016

The film is a must watch for every cricket lover because it aptly tells the tale of an extraordinary man. The struggles are real and so is Sushant's acting. There isn't any shocking revelation, just inspiration and determination of a born talent who along with right people by his side, became the legendary captain.You have to give credit to Neeraj Pandey to keep it intriguing enough for you to get hooked throughout the three hours. Although it could have focused more on Dhoni's rise through the years instead of his personal life, but that doesn't let the movie down.Tight screenplay and good performances makes this one a good watch. I go with 3.5/5 for Dhoni's biopic directed by Neeraj Pandey.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them2016

Directed by David Yates, the steady hand who'd steered Harry Potter films five to eight to popular and critical acclaim has done the same with the Fantastic Beasts. Though Fantastic Beasts is genealogically linked to Harry Potter, with nods and winks sprinkled like cake crumbs throughout the script, in practice there's no particular reason it had to be. The catastrophic timing and tone of Depp's pop-up gurn sends you out of Fantastic Beasts feeling more anxious about the franchise's stamina. Solidly extending the Harry Potter franchise to a different era with new characters, Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them starts slowly before finding its groove, delivering sufficient spectacle alongside a little emotion. I go with 4/5 for this beginner of a new potential franchise.
