Martin D'Souza's Film Reviews

Oh My God would be an apt description of this film. OMG is the most-used phrase in this film, if you would want to call it that. And OMG is what you keep mouthing as scene after silly scene unfolds on screen.
-
…though the film hangs on a flimsy plot the duo manage to extract huge Laugh Out Loud moments from the goings-on on screen.

It’s difficult to believe that we are seeing such inane stuff on screen from a director who gave us D-DAY. If at all Nikhil wanted the script to tug at one’s heart, he should have seen ANKHIYON KE JHAROKHON SE 10 times and then redone the movie.
Indeed, this is FOSLA KA GHOSLA!

If you are planning to watch this movie, I suggest you press CTRL+ALT+DELETE on your desire to do so.

Only one thing comes to mind after watching Ketan Mehta’s biopic on the late Dashrath Manjhi, the man from Bihar who turned a mountain into a molehill- a lesser actor would have crumbled under the weight of this character.
-
Rating this movie is beyond my call… but for the record it is 5 stars which in a way limits the brilliance of this movie.
GOUR HARI DASTAAN, The Freedom Files is a movie worth going miles to see.

There is in fact no story, nor any story-telling craft. However, if you have braved the first half, and are willing to sit through the next, and love some adrenalin rush, sans any connection with the story, the movie gets better.

I’m trying to figure out things in my mind, to make sense of what I have just seen…

DRISHYAM is a spot-on crime thriller that has some ‘heart-in-your-mouth’ moments. It’s set up in a made-up village called Pondolim in North Goa. What’s satisfying about the entire screenplay is that what Vijay is doing on screen is what you will do for your family.
Nothing less; after all, family is all that we have!

Every character leaves his or her mark on the screen including Jhonta (Nikhil Sahani), the little orphan who works with Pathak.
The end leaves you craving for more. MASAAN is worth going miles to see!
