Noyon Jyoti Parasara's Film Reviews
-
…this film still moves and inspires you enough. You would still root for Mary Kom as she enters the ring. But that’s primarily because Priyanka Chopra brings that aggression into the character. No this is not quite the biopic that Mary Kom deserves. Yet, I would urge you to watch it. For the ones who seek to understand the champion pugilist better, just read her book!

Identity Card does poorly as a film. While the story might connect with Kashmiri’s on an emotional level, it would fail to touch a regular audience. Complete lack on efficiency despite having a decent enough story makes Identity Card just about average.

Raja Natwarlal could have been a shorter film had it not wasted as much time of the non-happening romance. Probably focusing more on adding finesse to the heist could have taken this film notches higher. This one is just not cool enough a con-film, after you have watched films like Special 26 in the recent past. An attempt to create a ‘naya India ka naya Natwarlal’ had to be smarter, else it is just demeaning the original icon!

…irrespective of all it’s cliches Mardaani serves well towards Rani’s career graph. A definite watch if you are a Rani fan, Mardaani is an average revenge-action cop flick.

Singham Returns is a proof the director’s vision. He deserves all the cheers. Watch it for all the entertainment that Rohit Shetty can bring into a film. From blowing cars, to dialogues to hilarious moments this one has all. My personal favourite – a scene where Kareena suddenly gets famous and a restaurant manager asks for a selfie. You cannot not enjoy Singham Returns.

If you are not looking for much of intelligence, this is one film that should tickle your funny bone enough. A family watch.

Yawn inducing fare that fails to deliver any kick. Has to be the biggest disappointment of the year! The amount of money you spend on the tickets of Kick should be directly proportional to the how much you hate yourself!

Amit Sahni Ki List is your film this weekend if you are looking for some fun. You should surely come out with some funny Virr Das expressions in your mind.

Pizza has a novel plot. However this Hindi remake loses grip in screenplay, probably when the director tries to bring some fresh elements that were not a part of the Tamil original. Pizza entertains with some subtle humour and has some genuinely scary moments. Unfortunately a few moments are less than enough.

Overall, Hate Story 2 does not entice. It certainly does not entertain. Not unless stilettos and pink lips are what turn you on! Revenge sagas can be done better. Even if you have to mandatorily include skin show and sex.
