Shubha Shetty-Saha's Film Reviews
-
Gunday attempts to bring back that time, that bravado and a whole mish-mash of action sequences from films such as Deewar and the like. Unfortunately, everything rings as false as the mile-long eyelashes of the cabaret dancer Nandita, played by Priyanka Chopra.

The movie has an interesting premise but a better execution would have been welcome. Also, a little more logic in the storyline would have helped the film.

There are movies that entertain you and gladden your hearts, there are movies that make you sad and weepy, and then there are movies that well, evoke only one emotion. Boredom. One by Two is that movie. It made me want to sleep not only while watching it, but even as I write its review.

…talking about or analysing this movie might be a futile exercise, considering that even as I write this, there are scores of ‘bhaifans’ out there beaming inside a theatre and enjoying themselves, no matter how bad the film is. We can only hope they are inspired to help three people like their bhai instructed them to. Something good has to come out of everything.

The pace of the film could have been faster though; but then again, it’s not a major complaint. Watch this film only if you are brave enough to dive into the ‘dirty’ pool. If you are lucky, you might shed a layer of ‘sophistication’ and feel liberated.
-
A self-indulgent, dumb movie, intolerable from the word go. The only bright point in this otherwise forgettable experience is this actress, Rakul Preet Singh.
Hopefully we’ll get to watch more of her in some other film but you certainly need to avoid this one.

Watch this film; the world outside would have gotten mellower and more beautiful when you come out of the theatre. Why dedh and not do, did you say? Fellini and his 81/2 should perhaps be thanked for that.
-
While generally when epic and legendary movies are tampered with, they end up getting mauled and unrecognisable, Sholay in 3D format surprisingly works in its favour.
-
There have been some bizarre, irreverent films that were also great fun. But those films have had some brilliant thinking gone into it. This one is surely not it. Avoid it.

…should be given the credit for being a film with sincere attempt and ambition. However, its lack of vision, especially in terms of technology, works completely against it.
