• Entertaining, experimental and adventurous to the core, Jagga Jasoos is definitely a stepping stone towards a genre not yet explored by even the biggest of Bollywood filmmakers. A beautiful ode to Satyajit Ray, Feluda, Sherlock Holmes and Tintin at the same time indeed.

It’s a cliché, but no other word can sum up Jagga Jasoos better: Cinematic. Well, that’s it. Jagga Jasoos is the most ‘cinematic’ film you have seen in the recent months. Plunge to never come out of the world of Jagga Jasoos.

The plot is so engaging that you wouldn’t even mind a poker-faced Katrina tagging around with Ranbir, who completely steals the show.

  • Jagga Jasoos ‘revels in its lavish imagination, meddlesome inquiries and delicious Bongness, never once pausing to catch a breath or make sense

Parts of Jagga Jasoos are greater than their sum. But there’s no reason you shouldn’t head to a theatre and investigate for yourself.

  • Jagga Jasoos wins in the way the story is told, not necessarily in what the story is. Take a trip to Anurag Basu’s fantasy land this weekend. You will not be disappointed.

  • I would highly recommend watching this musical with a fresh and interesting script and nice music. This is surely one of Ranbir Kapoor’s best performances.

Jagga Jasoos is too long, but great fun watch. Ranbir has great comic timing, and Katrina – even though she looks exhausted most of the times – makes for a great sidekick.

  • Jagga, Tooti-frooti, and Shruti do take you around their fairy-tale world. Yet, this fairyland is quite close to the world we live in. So much so that if it weren’t for the music, the colours, the quirky, kiddish, borderline slapsticky humor you would be left with a film that was a sad documentation of our times. To even think of mixing these things together is a step in the much wanted experimental territory – for this attempt alone I am stunned by the long stride Jagga Jasoos has taken. Most of all, it is a decent kids film from India. That the narration could have been crisper and the story a tad deeper, we can leave to its promise of a sequel.

  • Although it’s sometimes a bit tedious and often downright ludicrous, Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif breathe life into this wacky comic caper

  • Apart from Ranbir Kapoor’s dazzling act and his chemistry with ex-flame Katrina Kaif, the film deserves a watch for its brave, unique attempt. Anurag Basu promised us a musical, adventurous journey and he successfully managed to keep the itinerary interesting.

  • Jagga Jasoos is endearing, refreshing and non-clichéd but painstakingly long especially in the second half. If you like lyrics and don’t mind the character singing out dialogues, you’ll love it like I did. The musical quality of the film makes it unusual and lovable at the same time.
