Meri Pyaari Bindu Reviews and Ratings
-
There are moments and sequences in the film that are moving and funny and quietly heartbreaking. But those are few in an overlong film that never quite finds its groove. I’m going with two out of five for Meri Pyaari Bindu. It’s an opportunity lost.
-
Ayushmann Khurrana, as the steadfast Bubla, fares a little better than Parineeti Chopra because he is given more to play with…
-
While the nostalgic references will ensure smiles keep making fleeting appearances on your face, the film won’t quite make you root for the characters.
-
Everything that I dislike about Bindu could also be used to her advantage in creating an unapologetic, compulsive attention seeker. Except under Roy and Sengupta’s infuriatingly daft and regressive outlook, Meri Pyaari Bindu relapses into indefensible stupidity.
-
While nostalgia can be a great cinematic tool, one wonders how much the current generation can relate to it…
-
This film about the eternalness of first love has its moments – the nifty use of a few old hits such as Meri Pyaari Bindu and Sapno Ki Rani – and is laden with nostalgia (Dear old Rs 500 note, how we miss you) but unlike those songs in the mix-tape, Meri Pyaari Bindu fails to be an all-time classic.
-
Meri Pyaari Bindu should have been named as ‘Meri Friend-Zoner Bindu’. With no love and lack of emotions…
-
It’s breezy, but mediocre that fails to use the potential of the premise though inspired into a beguiling rom com. Yes we can say it’s better than BEFIKRE, Ayushmann Khurrana and Parineeti Chopra are delightfully charming in this long prolonged affair and if that motivates you to go for it go or else wait for the official DVD.
-
Nostalgia is one of the strongest characters in Meri Pyaari Bindu, but it’s unlikely that the target audience for this kind of frothy romcom would warm up to that, and those who would are perhaps seeking more heft.
-
Meri Pyaari Bindu is just about okay. If you wish to escape the summer heat outside or are seeking help in falling asleep, this film is a great option. However, you’ll come away loving Parineeti Chopra’s performance.
