They reveal a rapidly expanding new India, with a newer, more confident voice. An outsider’s persistence and talent are finally turning out to be fine levelers. Doors of their workplace don’t appear locked from the inside anymore. Small town is subsequently big. In Bollywood. As in cricket. Wedding’s the other middle Indian obsession. That’s what this film’s about. You should definitely take these guys up on the invitation.

  • It doesn’t take offense at anything but will charm you anyway.

Fun while it lasts, Tanu Weds Manu throws up Bollywood’s newest obsession — small town girls and their gunas (values) — once again. A meatier storyline and a less messed up climax would have worked wonders for the film.

  • If you are looking for a great romantic comedy, this is not the one, but watch it for Madhavan and his chemistry with Deepak.

A range of interesting supplementary acts distract us from the lead pair whose rocky path to the `mandap’ we are meant to follow with interest.

  • Tanu Weds Manu is enjoyable as long as it lasts, but doesn’t stay with you as you walk out of the theatre. Watch if you must, but only for the performances. We recommend you wait for the TV premiere.

  • On the whole, Tanu Weds Manu is a family entertainer which will hit the bull’s eye. It may be a slow starter but it will pick up phenomenally by positive word of mouth and ultimately go on to become a hit.

  • TANU WEDS MANU lacks the freshness required for a breezy romantic flick. The wedding doesn’t turn out to be a grand one.

There seems to be talent simply pouring into the Indian film industry right now – and here’s another fantastic debut! The Tanu Weds Manu soundtrack is composer Krsna’s first foray into Hindi film – and he nails it.

  • ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ isn’t all bad. There are portions in the first half that enjoyable. But held together by a fractured script, they fail to take good shape.
