Critic Consensus
Critical reception for Baazaar is largely negative, with most critics finding the film mediocre despite its ambitious premise. Saif Ali Khan's performance is the near-unanimous bright spot, with reviewers consistently singling out his commanding, charismatic screen presence even when dismissing the film around him. Common criticisms include a weak, sketchy screenplay, underdeveloped characters that fail to generate emotional investment, and an inability to live up to the Hollywood financial films it borrows from. A minority of reviewers found value in the film's depiction of stock market intrigue and financial power play, particularly for genre enthusiasts.

“An uninteresting, uninvolving film...The treatment of the film is moth-balled (a line in English is translated immediately after in Hindi) and hackneyed. Bad songs punctuate the proceedings. Background music is used to buoy almost every scene.”Read full review ↗
“Saif Ali Khan can't save this stock market trash...Despite a bullish Saif Ali Khan and a competent Radhika Apte, Baazaar is a mediocre film that tries to borrow from masterworks such as The Wolf of the Wall Street and The Big Short with disastrous results.”Read full review ↗
“Baazaar uses plenty of stock market jargon and showcases complex ideas like insider trading and financial manipulation with ease. It's great to see an edgy story unfold in completely new settings in a Hindi film. The movie has a lot of hustle and power play from the world of industrialists, politicians and money brokers, and that makes for a smart investment, especially for movie buffs.”Read full review ↗

Saif Ali Khan is absolutely earth shattering in Baazaar (Stock Market) where he plays an unscrupulous businessmen who gambles in the stock markets along with newbie Rohan Vinod Mehra who is absolutely incompetent as his protege stockbroker looking to make it big in the millennium city.
