Khel Khel Mein

A little more of the some-men-will never-change just like leopards and their spots would have made this Akshay Kumar-Taapsee Pannu film a no-holds-barred banger. The length of the movie makes things sag in bits, especially in the second half, and some of the 'reveals' aren't that madly interesting either.

...a game of love, trust and betrayal. While the film takes its own sweet time to bloom, it is a clean comedy that doesn't rely on double-meaning one-liners.

You can definitely give it a watch as it marks Akshay's return to comedy five years after Housefull 4. He's the glue that holds everything in the setting together despite being caught in an unhappy marriage. By the end of it, Khel Khel Mein becomes a film about acceptance and subtly makes a statement on how there's no right and wrong when it comes to relationships.

Khel Khel Mein has minor flaws, but its smart writing, tight direction, and performances make it worth a watch, especially with a bunch of friends. However, if you get too inspired by this game, do it at your own risk!

The chemistry between the motley bunch of actors works in fits and starts but Akshay Kumar's gift of the gab, Taapsee's bumbling comedienne and Fardeen Khan's dry wit come out tops. Khel Khel Mein's appeal lies in its frivolous worldview. It's only when the movie overexplains its actions and its 'parda mein rehne do' maxim, it's not fun and games anymore.

Akshay Kumar's comeback to comedy balances relationship sensitivity and humour effectively, delivering a film that manages to entertain while maintaining emotional depth.
