The trouble with `My Friend Pinto’ is that it takes so long to get to the point where it starts to feel like a film that you almost give up. Characters tumble about, minus direction.

So what is it that actually tickles the funny bone in here? Definitely not Pinto’s slow and steady steps.

‘My Friend Pinto’ is worth the smile it generates – but so much more seems to be left undone. The songs in the movie are great, the actors so perfectly sweet and the chaos all pervading. But as a whole – the movie gives nothing great to take home.

These are interesting times. Different voices. Newer faces. Still Bollywood. The material here may be a lot better than the movie. But it doesn’t quite disappoint you still. Which is great to know. And you should be good to go.

  • See this only if you are a Prateik Babbar fan. Else avoid.

  • My Friend Pinto is a very complex script to write and an even more complex act to pull off on screen. Dar manages the chaos created by Michael Pinto’s misadventures across the celebratory streets of Mumbai with fluency and grace.

  • My Friend Pinto is one happy, no-frills film that’s sure to make you smile. As one of the characters rightly says, a smile is what we need the most sometimes. Recommended.

  • On the whole, My Friend Pinto has little to endear it to the paying public. Given its poor promotion and dull start on the one hand and the dull pre-Diwali days on the other, the film doesn’t stand much of a chance at the box-office.

  • MY FRIEND PINTO is definitely a feel good movie. One, which an entire family can enjoy together.

My Friend Pinto has a long way to go before he can befriend the audience.

  • The film could have been made into something relevant had it not focused on too many sub-plots. As far as comedy goes, the film lacks the punch. There’s nothing humorous about ‘My Friend Pinto’.
