…ripe for black humour, and a sharp comedy of manners. There are moments when the film seems to get it, but then squanders the chance, and gets back to being broad and obvious. And dull.

  • While the plot is predictable, credible actors play their part extremely well and lift the script to a whole new level.

Crazy Cukkad Family lacks freshness and is a rework of many Bollywood films. You may like it in bits and pieces, but overall it’s just an average film.

The narrative hinges itself on satire, however, the melodrama towards the end dilutes the humour; that could have been avoided. That apart, Ritesh Menon’s direction is confident and his portrayal of characters, engaging. Kudos to the editing team for keeping the film under two hours, a minute more and it could have easily flown off the rails. But overall Crazy Cukkad Family manages to be a decent balance of chuckles, LOLs and WTFs.

  • Crazy Cukkad Family has no dearth of crazy characters, but they simply aren’t zany enough…A wild goose chase is always avoidable, especially when it assumes the form of a full-fledged film.

Overall, the characters are crazy enough to amuse you with their shenanigans. If you don’t mind a cliched story, Beri villa is worth a visit.

Crazy Cukkad Family is definitely not one of the best comedies but of course you could go and watch it once for the strong performances.

Boring story will make you crazy…Go watch Crazy Cukkad family if you can laugh watching any comedy or if you want your family to learn the lesson of unity.

  • Even though this is Ritesh Menon’s debut film, the film looks promising in parts. While he succeeds in keeping the first half of the film tight, it’s the wavering second half that acts as a disjoint to the film’s flow. The film could have been made a bit stronger in its direction. Even if he had changed the (bizarre) climax into a more believable one, things would have been a bit different.

A comedy is supposed to make you laugh. If it does that in abundance, all other cinema sins can be forgiven. Even though CCF does well in the raising laughs department, its just not consistent enough.
There’s ample supply of craziness here. If only it were presented in a more aesthetic and artistic manner.

  • CRAZY CUKKAD FAMILY could have been the proverbial rib-tickler if only the focus was on making us laugh!

Sadly the humour is decidedly more dead in Crazy Kukkad Family than the patriarch who just refuses to die. The writing could have done with less lungs and more brains.

This is one crazy family we don’t want to run into .

Crazy Cukkad Family is entertaining, no doubt, but at the end of the day, it appears like a nice television serial. Lack of face value and the poor opening will do the film in. Its commercial prospects are very dull.

Crazy Cukkad Family is definitely not one of the best comedies but of course you could go and watch it once for the sake of strong performances that have miserably drowned in this lame plot!

After showing signs of digging into the innards of middle class family values by putting a gay couple and an item girl from a rural background in the mix, Ritesh resorts to the safety of slapstick and happy ending, and when one begins to see the Priyadarshan-like family hungama from a distance, the craziness begins to wane.
