• FKS is a fun ride. Fathers too busy with their work to attend to their kids ‘growing up’ emotional needs will get an ‘education’.

Ferrari ki Sawaari assures an entertaining ride throughout although it is more bumpy than it should have been. Nevertheless, such clean, heart tugging movies are fewer to come by which is why I would ask you to not miss it. I am sure the kids will love this Sawaari!

  • Ferrari Ki Sawaari is a thank you note to Sachin Tendulkar for inspiring a whole generation of young Indians to pick up the willow and knock the cricket ball around with intent.

It would have made its point a lot better had it been as crisp as a Sachin cover drive or as heart-pounding as the thrill of a Ferrari at full throttle. It’s neither.

It’s not as if ‘Ferrari Ki Sawaari’ doesn’t have its points. I haven’t seen such a natural little boy in a Hindi film in a long time. Sahore gets being naughty and willful and wistful without lapsing into artifice, and that is all too rare in saccharine-coated Bolly kidsworld. The little by-plays on the field are fun, too. And despite the fact that Rusy is made out to be this altogether too-gentle character who is more wuss than anything else, Joshi makes him watchable. Also, why don’t we get to see Seema Bhargava more often? She is so good here, making her character zing. Which is what’s missing from ‘Ferrari’. It is nice, but bland.

  • All these factors combined with a tear-jerker of an ending makes Ferrari Ki Sawaari a full family entertainment flick. It is a good way to spend your weekend and definitely your money’s worth.

  • A film, which has childlike ambitions as its fulcrum, needs to be seen with the eyes of a child, they say. ‘Ferrari Ki Sawaari’ comes across as mesmerising if the Dickensian footholds of reason and logic are dropped for some time. As a film which has the game of cricket as its scaffolding and thriving ground, the usage of a car belonging to the iconic cricketer might not be a phenomenal tribute, but is quite laudable. The producer and director of the film – Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Rajesh Mapuskar, have successfully pulled off their offering to the God of Cricket.

  • On the whole, Ferrari Ki Sawaari is a well-intentioned and nicely made film that entertains in parts.

  • Like the Munnabhai movies and 3 Idiots with which it shares its DNA, Ferrari Ki Sawaari is a well-intentioned film with its heart positioned firmly in the right place. And yet, this simple-minded tale about an ordinary family chasing an extraordinary dream never quite soars.I’m going with two-and-a-half out of five for director Rajesh Mapuskar’s Ferrari Ki Sawaari. A little shorter, a little more subtle, this one could’ve zoomed.

On the whole, FERRARI KI SAWAARI is a noble film, a film that has its heart in the right place. It’s well-intended and sincere and it goes about its business with incredible earnestness. Of course, the film has its share of hiccups, but then all films do, right? But keeping the fault-finding apart, FERRARI KI SAWAARI is an accomplished effort. It’s that exceptional film that communicates a point and tells a sensitive story in those 2.10 hours. This heartwarming, tender and sprightly film should not be missed!

Ferrari works as a film. It’s a story of reaching for your dreams, of endearing father-son relationships, and of moral lessons that aren’t preachy. It’s a formula that rarely fails — the sort of feel-good movie that makes for perfect Sunday viewing with the whole family.

  • Ferrari Ki Sawaari isn’t something that was put together in a hurry because the actors were available. This was a tribute to all the young boys who spend countless hours, dreaming of the day when they can wield the bat with the same passion as the master blaster does. A sweet feel good film with its heart in the right place. The dialogues by RajKumar Hirani entertain us with a handful of LOL-worthy moments. And that is the best that can be said about Ferrari Ki Sawaari. One or two brilliant moments, a handful of good moments but they don’t come together to give us a great film.

Rajesh Mapuskar does succeed in extracting decent performances from the entire cast. Sharman Joshi, as an uncertain and shy guy with a constant smirk on his face that tries to hide his inner sorrows, skillfully underplays his part. Occasionally he seems too passive but is still likeable.
