• This film is far away from a ‘labour of love’ and is not worth your time. We are going for two stars for this one and would suggest that you should avoided it provided you are a big Emraan Hashmi fan.

Mr. X has been promoted as a science fiction and action film. Be assured, there is no science, no fiction, as for the action, you can give it a miss too.

Devoid of any logic or common sense, the screenplay treats its audience as someone who has a single digit I.Q. It appears more like a project to test how much ludicrousness the viewers can take.

  • Mr X can take you back to your Mr India days, but only for the similarity between their film titles—if only criminals could be killed by going invisible! Book your tickets for Emraan Hashmi ala 3D style!

…an inept, incompetent and insipid sci-fi film with an IQ level that is smaller than the size of Emraan Hashmi’s shoes. Skipping it is not an option, it is a compulsion.

Mr. X is a tremendously unimaginative film about a wronged ATT Cop who uses his accidentally acquired invisibility to exact revenge on his colleagues. More than Emraan Hashmi’s hollow man Raghu, the script remains invisible with greater authenticity.

  • If you are an Emraan Hashmi fan, then this is for you. If not, go to COURT!

    Pun intended!

Bhatt’s recent outings have been in the genre of supernatural and 3D horror. This time, in his tech endeavour to create an invisible man, he appears to have overlooked the storyline. Wish he had paid attention to other details as well.

We suggest, streaming Mr. India online and re-living your childhood as you witness an invisible man fighting the wrong around him. Even the evil Mogambo from the film brings a smile to the faces.

  • Like his character, Hashmi’s charm is beginning to flicker and disappear, and playing the same character over and over again is only making it worse. Dastur walks away with more lines and more screen space than the leading man, but doesn’t make much use of it, giving an insipid performance that is in keeping with the film’s tone.

  • But the central flaw with the film is Mr. X himself who never piques our interest and is as hollow inside as he is on the outside. Steer clear.

Mr X is badly written, and we don’t want to talk about acting. Emraan Hashmi appears bored, but Amyra Dastur looks improved in emotional scenes. But it is not enough to save the film. Mr X is a complete waste of time.

  • They were optimistic enough to leave the film open for a possible sequel. That one-star rating then is for courage alone.

Despite flaws, in its 133 minutes of runtime, Bhatt churns out a quasi-gratifying film, which has all the necessary commercial ingredients – from romance to good music to thunderous action sequences.

  • While it’s not easy to pull in viewers with a storyline that involves an invisible man, Hashmi doesn’t get much support from anyone. Just like his struggle to bring down evil men, he’s alone in his fight to make Mr X a watchable film. Go for this if you are a Hashmi fan. All others can give this one a miss.

  • Vikram Bhatt’s attempt at science-fiction is diluted by tacky special effects, a convoluted plot, and random lip-locks…Emraan Hashmi’s peekaboo in ‘Mr X’ is pretty lame!

  • Let’s just say Mr. X is a quarterly deal between the Bhatts and their bhanja with everything typically Vishesh films — hot Chiquita, check, bad CG, check and kissing scenes, hell check!!
My only question to Mr. X was Y! Why were you made? Watch it only if you are a huge Hashmi fan.
