Dil Bole Hadippa!
Dil Bole Hadippa is a perfect example of how Bollywood can quite shamelessly adapt (read copy) anything from the West and do a decent job. This one's a straight lift of the America teenage comedy She's The Man (2006). The only difference in that while in the English film, the lead actress is standing in for her brother in a soccer team, Veera Kaur (Rani Mukerji) plays cricket. But DBH is not aimed at the teens. Who its aimed at, is really a bit of a mystery.

The premise that all boys change after they fall in love is too thin and predictable to keep you hooked for the two hours and twenty minutes the film runs. Also the film stereotypes all married women as frustrated and willing to jump into bed with the first single eligible men.

Fresh and funny, this is a small film with a big heart. Shot on a shoe-string budget, and no star power, Filmistaan relies on it's script and its actors to carry the film. And they both do a wonderful job. Both Sharib and Innamulhaq are perfectly cast and delight with their performances. The developing friendship between the two is captured beautifully. Sunny's obsession with Bollywood is something that most people will relate to. If you are a Bollywood fan, you cannot miss this one.
